At St Dunstan’s and St Jude’s, our SVP Conferences bring together volunteers from all walks of life to make a practical difference in our local community. Whether we are responding to calls through the Presbytery, supporting local schools, or reaching out to those facing hardship, our mission is simple: to tackle poverty in all its forms and offer companionship.

What We Do: Practical Help & Compassion

​​

Our work on the ground is diverse, hands-on, and entirely tailored to everyday needs:

​

• Food Support: Providing emergency food parcels, bags of groceries, and supermarket vouchers for families and individuals in crisis.

• Essential Items & White Goods: Supplying donated clothes, shoes, toiletries, and baby goods, alongside securing special funding to replace critical white goods like cookers, fridges, and washing machines.

• Community Partnerships: Supporting the local Women’s Refuge, providing children’s clothing and toys for St. Paul’s Family Centre in Balsall Heath, and organizing a weekly Tuesday lunch club and arts and crafts for isolated residents in Druids Heath.

• A Listening Ear: We help people of all ages, faiths, and nationalities—remembering that sometimes the most important gift we can offer is simply a listening ear.

We are always looking for new volunteers to join us. Complete training is provided, and whether you can give an hour a month or more, your time changes lives.

Young Vincentians

Our Vincentian family also includes the Mini Vinnies at St Dunstan’s Primary School and Young Vincentians (Youth SVP) at Bishop Challoner Catholic College, helping children and young people turn concern into action. Find out more about the SVP’s young people’s programmes.
