Justice and Peace and Amnesty
Justice and Peace is involved in issues of justice (fairness) and peace both in the local community and in the overseas community - true peace is not possible unless there is justice.
Locally, the group supports SIFA Fireside, a Birmingham charity tackling homelessness and alcohol abuse, the food bank at St Chad’s Sanctuary, which supports destitute asylum seekers and refugees, the St Vincent de Paul Society and Restore, which is a project of Birmingham Churches Together to help and support refugees and asylum seekers through befriending by volunteers, CAFOD, Fair Trade (Traidcraft), Pax Christi, Amnesty and Israel-Palestine issues (Sabeel Wave of Prayer). Members also discuss ways to contact our local MPs and councillors about injustice.
The Justice and Peace group within our Parish meet on the 4th Monday of the month at 7.45pm in the Conference Room by St Dunstan's Church. If you would like to get involved or would like more information, please contact Miriam Wilcher on 0121 444 3568 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
